Who We Are

Our Skill and Service Shine

From commercial and institutional foodservice equipment like tray slides, sneeze guards and food preparation tables to highly custom residential kitchens – if you can design it, we can build it.

Our relationships with foodservice designers, consultants, architects, furniture designers and end-users have provided us enormous variety and perspective. We incorporate that perspective into our craft to continually refine our fabrication processes and customer service skills. The result is efficient and intelligent solutions crafted of steel.

Our expert engineering staff uses a state-of-the-art CAD/CAM system with programmable CNC machinery to turn out precision-crafted stainless equipment in volume. More intricate, one-of-a-kind projects call for our artisans who combine advanced and traditional methods and materials.

Whatever your project, we’re confident we can do it justice.

Our Mission: To serve our customers from a foundation of integrity and craftsmanship by building lasting relationships that enrich our lives and communities.

We Are a Company of Pride

I launched my first business, Grand Traverse Refrigeration, in 1976, with a mission to do great work in our community. Great Lakes Stainless naturally complimented our burgeoning refrigeration business and my hunger to do quality work.

My Native American roots have given me sensitivity to community and pride. My Midwestern work ethic makes sure it gets done.

Combined, we’ve created a company in which our employees are encouraged to share information and ideas. The result of our team environment is high-quality work, crafted with a lot of elbow grease and a great deal of personal pride.

We welcome the opportunity to bid on your next project.

Terry Berden, CEO, Great Lakes Stainless
